Computers In Personnel have been working closely with HR departments for over 25 years; and during that time have developed an accurate picture of the problems that they face, the typical needs of their job role and their future requirements.

At CIP, a ‘product futures’ team was created in 2007 with the sole purpose of assessing the market place and striving to gain a fuller understanding of how emerging technologies could address future HR departmental requirements. The team does this in a number of inventive ways, including holding regular client events that promote HR participation and community discussion; keeping fully abreast of emerging software technologies and solutions, and holding product beta trials with existing clients.

A number of current offerings were introduced by the Product Futures team and are now being successfully delivered to numerous clients.

HR Outsourcing is an exciting new service offered by Computers In Personnel that clients have not previously had available to them. The outsourcing of HR tasks and processes to CIP professionals provides a number of cost-saving benefits:

• The CIP users are extensively experienced with their own products and can derive superb results and management reporting information, both quickly and easily.
• The HR department can use their valuable time to focus on business-related objectives (increasing their internal value), rather than on administration and reporting.
• The client’s HR team has flexibility during periods of high activity and doesn’t need to hire and train additional personnel.

HR Software Support is another area that has been enhanced in an effort to provide advanced support to clients. Through the introduction of Appsight ‘Black Box’ technology, the Computers In Personnel helpdesk can now trouble-shoot client problems down to a code level and determine quick and stable solutions. Once deployed, Appsight runs a diagnostic on a replication of the client’s issue and provides full reporting on the issue at hand. This ensures clients’ issues are resolved in a timely fashion.

Absence Capture & Tracking has long been a burden for HR teams, who have had to implement strict processes in order to try and capture and record all absences as quickly and as effectively as possible. Computers In Personnel have introduced a voice-based absence capture and tracking solution to their clients that provides them with the ability to capture absences on day 1. The onus is placed on the employee, who calls a pre-defined number and records the details of their absence immediately. The system then automatically generates communication to HR and line management, and a standardised policy for all employees places the burden on them as opposed to the HR team. The system then reports on employee absences and can flag up instances that require further attention (such as long-term sickness, absence patterns, etc).

Offerings such as these ensure Computers In Personnel remains ahead of competitors in both product and service, and increases the scope and penetration of their products into the employees organisation.
