Welcome to web2c.com. I think it's been over a year since I last made any changes with this web (It's 9/2/01). Web2c was my platform in learning HTML and digital graphics 4-5 years ago. There's not much money to be made from most web sites considering how cheap most surfers (me included) are. Banner ad revenues have all but dried up. I used to average somewhere around $50/mo with this web, which didn't do much more than pay it's way, though I made as much as $300 in a month. Most days there were 5000 to 10000 banner exposures, and 15 click-throughs was a good day. Sort of tells how we really feel about ads. For around three years this web averaged 700-1000 unique visitors/day. The winter of 98-99 was probably the best, where there were up to 3000 uniques/day. Here's an old tracking report from 02/99 where there were 2500 uniques. I just checked current stats for the first time in at least a year, and was surprised to see there are still close to 300/day, considering it's basically a dead web I've left up as a courtesy and help to newbies. For the past year and a half I've been working as webmaster at a small hosting and development company called RecWorld . We have around 150 hosted clients, and several hundred paying linked clients. I do most of the admin there, and work on some high end web development. I started moving into ASPs and SQL last year, which is getting close to where I want to land with this. You can see a web I recently finished at MOGA . It has search capabilities in a database that includes around 200 members in their organization, and also has an ecommerce section with adventure trips for sale. I'm saying these things to encourage as much as anything else. Finding the web was love at first site :) - if you find it the same, consider it just a matter of time until you find your niche. Please don't be too critical of the stuff you find here. Remember this is an old web in internet time, and I was just a beginner. I can do a whole lot more now. Best wishes. |
